Troy McKerrell

USLA & USL2

Hi my name is Troy McKerrell and I was born in Scotland and raised on the west coast on a tiny island called the Isle of Bute. I love to golf & travel in my spare time.

I am a forward thinking, highly ambitious and driven UEFA A Licensed Coach and Analyst who has established an exceptional record of achievements through coaching roles around the world, whilst making the successful transition into these sectors following a professional playing career in Scotland and the United States.

My successes within the coaching and analysis arena are underpinned by a wealth of experience within football as a player, coach, match analyst, scout, and psychologist as well as a portfolio of industry knowledge and qualifications. I have also performed roles for United Soccer Coaches and USSSA Soccer, on top of my positions with club, university and professional football.

Gaining recognition for my work I am a proud alumni of the 30under30 program with the United Soccer Coaches, where I was selected as one of the top 15 male coaches in America and  received a scholarship to further my coaching development through the United Soccer Coaches. I was recognized for my achievements at the 2017 United Soccer Coaches convention.

I was also fortunate to be selected for the Modern Soccer Coach World Mentorship program. As 1 of 15 coaches chosen from around the world I received a life long mentorship from Todd Beane the son in law of Johan Cryuff.

Throughout my coaching career I have offered myself as a visible leader and mentorship figure for players and coaching staff. My coaching career has been built on a solid academic foundation, having attained a Masters degree in psychology and my UEFA A license. I am committed to achieving the highest coaching qualifications to enhance my knowledge and contribute to the future of modern football.

It was through the United Soccer Coaches Black Advocacy group that I was introduced to Chicago City Soccer Club and Nick Mulvaney.  From the initial contact with Nick and our conversations it was the ambition & professionalism that made my decision easy to join the Chicago City Soccer Club family. The club's ambition to help players, coaches, staff and parents fulfill their full potential is key to everything that I look for in a club. Having confidence in the clubs resources and support I believe we can elevate the Chicago City Soccer Club experience for all involved to a whole new level through our hard work and dedication.
