LEAGUE BREAKDOWN

Through City's long term player and team development model, it is crucial we place our teams in the correct division that nurture those players abilities. It is essential that they are challenged but that they also have success.

CCSC believes in learning by failing. Our players, coaches, teams, and parents must understand and be willing to be part of the process. No team should win every game.

Our coaching staff are highly qualified and experienced to make the appropriate decisions on each teams placement to ensure they are on course to progressing each year.

If there are players who are excelling within a level, we will then trial them at a higher level to ensure they are where they need to be.

At the beginning of each season, the leagues hold a seeding meeting in which the clubs request their preferred division for each team. The league will process that request and either accept or decline. Those teams who finish in the top two places will be moved up, and those who finished in the bottom two places, will be moved down.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT MODEL

City’s new model moving into the 2022-23 season is built upon creating a stronger soccer community culture within the club.

We will be more focused on the needs and success of the individual player versus specific teams. Players will be placed in a developmentally and socially appropriate group of players that will be fluent throughout the year that we believe provides many benefits to their experience & makes them stronger individuals.

Players are integrated with appropriate players who may be younger, older, more advanced, less advanced, boys, or girls.

The training environment will expose players to a new environment that will be more club inclusive where more players and coaches are in contact with each other. This in turn allows guest players to be more familiar with other teams players to bring the teams closer.

Players, teams, coaches will be observed by directors regularly to ensure the goals of each are being met, which ensures consistent curriculum and messaging to all players in the club.

Due to the new model, friends who may be split up by levels will now have more interaction within the training environment.

We are Chicago City Soccer Club & our new model will support  the long term development of our players and coaches.
