I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland playing for Ireland's most prestigious youth club, St Kevin's Boys. I was not lucky enough to make the grade in England but thankfully my parents were able to help me attain a soccer scholarship to NAIA powerhouse William Carey University, in Mississippi at the age of 18.
Following an unforgettable experience playing collegiate soccer I had the opportunity to play in the USL with New Orleans and then visa issues restricted me from playing with Atlanta Silverback, and Wilmington Hammerheads and so I moved to Chicago to play for Chicago Fire's NPSL. After two years I headed back to Europe and settled in London, England where I continued playing and coaching.
In 2011 I returned to Chicago with the invaluable experience of coaching semi professional, leading up a youth academy, and being thrown in the deep end working with youth and adult players with disabilities in the build up to the London Olympics.
Upon my return to Chicago I took on the Director of Coaching role at Chicago Lakefront Attack Soccer Club here in the City with the goal to change the face of soccer in the City.
Step one was raise the level of standards on and off the field while creating a culture of family between our coaches, players, families, and communities.
In 2013 Chicago City Soccer Club was formed to be the club for the City of Chicago, and so we continue to work hard to ensure we are providing our families with a club they are proud of.
National Champs
I have been very lucky to be part of many amazing teams throughout my playing and coaching career. In 2019, due to last minute illness and injuries, I took eleven U17 girls to Tampa, Florida for the USL Super Y National Championships, and somehow we came out on top and won a National Title, the first for the club.
